The Lean Economy Connection (LEC) is a research group looking for solutions to climate change and the depletion of fossil fuels.
According to the center's Web site, it developed the carbon trading model that polluting corporations, governments and air travelers are taking advantage of. Its research shows that wind power is better than nuclear power, especially for the environment. Click here to see a list of issues related to nuclear energy.
Today, nuclear power plants have been compromised by groups trying to show the public security vulnerablilities of nuclear plants. This is just one of the short term security threats. One long-term problem of nuclear power is what to do with the waste it eneviatably produces.
The LEC says that wind power is much safer to humans and the environment than nuclear energy.

Ok, but what about areas that hardly have any wind strong enough to rotate a windpower machine most of the year?
So far NO alternative energy technology is developed to an extend that it would be possible to replace nuclear power with it. It is just too costy for the corporations to invest in it. Again, the list you refer to shows only the drawbacks and skips the costs and advantages that nuclear might offer. Sorry but your argumentation is not balanced.
When you figure in ALL of the costs related to nuclear energy, not just the costs of producing it but also costs of transportation, security, storage, damage to environment, damage to health of nuclear plant workers and communities, costs of catastrophes (natural or manmade) any so-called cost "advantages" of nuclear energy are lost.
We have more than enough FREE energy coming from the sun AND the technologies to make their use mainstream. This, in addition to other alternative energy sources, as well as connecting the GRID systems across continents, should be more than enough, especially if we REDUCE the amount of energy we use.
